So you wanna know something really exciting and so totally unexpected!? DO YOU!?
I am sick again!!! Oh yes. Let me just tell you how absolutely thrilled I am that I'm going into the third fucking month of the year, sick! SICK! Andy had his 15-month well baby visit on this past Saturday. Although, you couldn't really call it "well" seeing as how he was still sick too. He didn't get his immunizations because he was sick, and oh yeah...he has an enlarged SPLEEN! Enlarged internal organs...just what I want to hear. Apparently it is very common when you have a viral infection (esp. one right after the other) for your organs to get inflamed and to push other organs out of their normal spots. The spleen is normally protected under the ribcage, but his is slightly below, leaving it vulnerable to injury. So she just gave me instructions to bring him back in in three weeks, and oh...just try to make sure he's not roughhousing too much and doesn't take any bad falls.
So of course, the whole weekend we were like...WATCH OUT FOR THE SPLEEN!
Yah, then he fell off the kitchen table last night. I was getting his coat and shoes on because we were going out for dinner. I turned to grab a Kleenex for his runny nose, not two feet away, and he dived right off. And it wasn't just a fall off the table, no. First he hit the kitchen chair on his way down, THEN hit the floor. Thankfully I sort of caught him on the way down, so he didn't get the full impact. He cried for only about three minutes. I cried for a half hour. I felt so terrible. Talk about watching out for his spleen!
