Monday, April 21, 2003 - 8:04 a.m. Wow...what a weekend! It was a good one, but a busy one! I'm just gonna get started with it, lol. Friday night Jim and I went and finished some Easter shopping that had to get done, and even though the stores were a madhouse, we got the gift shopping done. Jim wanted to go out to dinner, but I was feeling way too sick to, so we just came home. Saturday I got the day started early and went and did the food shopping that I had to get done. Jim's family was coming over at about 2:00 for our "Easter Saturday", so I had to get the food for that, and then get home and get the kids gifts together and the house cleaned and the food set up. Luckily we were just doing snacky stuff so there was no cooking or anything. Not that I can cook now anyways, lol. I also made a run to Fashion Bug cuz I wanted to get a new shirt to wear for Easter. I ended up finding several shirts that I liked, and a pair of pants that I bought a couple sizes bigger for me to "grow into", lol. It was a good shopping day, hehe. So I rushed home and Jim and I started getting the house cleaned, gifts wrapped and food set up. We got everything done in the nick of time, and everyone started arriving. The day with them went REALLY well and we had a great time together. The kids were really good and had fun playing with their new toys we got them. The weather even cleared up and we were able to take them outside for a bit. They were so cute running around out there in their little Easter outfits. It was a really nice day. I took GOBS of pictures, hehe. I can't wait to get them developed. After everyone left, Jim and I just chilled out for the rest of the night. I was pretty tired after all the rushing around I did earlier. Easter Sunday didn't get off to a very good start, I woke up pretty sick and was throwing up. I was dreading the day already, because I knew we had a lot of running around to do that day, and I didn't want to miss it or feel miserable for it. I took my anti-nausea meds and they worked okay, but I was kind of tired most of the day. I got the fruit tray ready that I was bringing to my Aunt's house, and then we were on our way to stop at my parent's house before we got on with the rest of our visits. We did our gift exchanging there, and had a good time. Everyone liked their stuff, and my Mom put together a BEAUTIFUL baby layette for us. She put it in a really pretty box, and inside everything was wrapped inside a fleece baby blanket. She had a BUNCH of stuff in there, so beautifully arranged. There was diapers and bottled and bibs and pacifiers, and then a bunch of cute little onesies and gowns and sleepers. All unisex stuff that was just SOOO adorable!!! I don't know where she found it all, cuz it was stuff that I hadn't seen anywhere so far, at the stores I'd been to. I couldn't believe how much stuff she had in there...it was just so cute. We all had fun holding up all the tiny diapers and outfits...so cute. I can't wait until this little bundle of Trouble gets here so we can use all those adorable little outfits. Then we set off for the stops we had to make that day. First we went to my mom's sister's house to celebrate with her family. We had a nice time together, a great dinner, and we told everyone our news. I had gotten my Grandma an Easter card, and signed it, "Love, Jim, Cory, and "Baby Bowles". She caught on right away and just started saying, "Is it true? Is it true? Really???" hehe Everyone kept saying, "What!? What!?" Finally they all got the gist of it and there were tears and hugs all around. My parents were just so excited and thrilled to finally be able to tell everyone and share their excitement. It was a really nice day and everyone was so happy for us. After our afternoon there, we headed out (again) to go over to my Dad's cousin's house, where the rest of his family was celebrating Easter. We were all very excited to go over there and tell them the news, because this will be the first of the Grandchildren to have a baby, and they've just been waiting and waiting to hear the news from us eventually, hehe. So, I did the same thing for my Grandma there, except on the front of her card, because of the style of it, I wrote "Great" in front of the Grandma that was written on it. I think she figured it out right away, even before she read how I signed it, hehe. She just started crying right away and handed the card to one of my uncles who was like..."She is?? She is!!!" Then everyone started catching on, and it was the same thing there, only to a higher and louder degree, lol. They were all just hooting and hollering and tears and kisses all around, lol. It was SO much fun telling them, they were all just soooo thrilled. And of course, they were all just dying that we had kept it secret for so long. They were just so excited though, and immediately started talking about Christmas and Thanksgiving and all the holidays after the baby will get here, lol. It was such a fun night there, and it was a million questions all night long about how I've been feeling and what our plans are and how we'd told people so far and this and that, lol. We had a great time, and even all my little cousins were excited too, hehe. All told it was really a wonderful weekend, and Easter was just amazing and almost magical, hehe. A day we'll remember for a very long time. :)
